Saving Saints Rescue UK Dog show event – 15 and 16 April 2023

Come and join us over the weekend of Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 April at Nene Park, Peterborough (just off the A1), https://www.nenepark.org.uk/ We love all dogs – small to giant, cross breeds, disabled and rescue is our favourite breed.

The event is wheelchair accessible (including park toilet/catering areas) and we will have a special ‘quiet zone’ tent in the ‘bark and read’ area with pat therapy dogs for all to access with bean bags.

Saturday programme:

11 am – Dog social walk (meet at Ferry Meadow information centre)
12 noon – Ferry Meadow arena opens
12.15 pm – Rugby session for under 16s
1 pm – Dog show – open classes
3 pm – Children’s treasure hunt; read and bark events (children reading to pat dogs)
4.30 pm – Best in show prize giving and raffle
6 pm – BBQ and live music in the bell tent area

Sunday programme:

10 am – Dog social walk around the lakes (meet at Ferry Meadow Information Centre)
11 am – Children’s treasure hunt; read and bark events (children reading to pat dogs)
12.15 pm – Rugby session for under 16s
1 pm – Dog show – open classes
3.15 pm – Best in show prize giving and raffle
3.30 pm – Dog Easter egg hunt
4.30 pm – Guinness World Record attempt for more than 100 dogs sitting simultaneously for 30 seconds
5 pm – Dog social walk around the lake and clean up party!
6.15 pm – World Record event at Nene Valley Park Steam Railway – largest number of dogs on a steam train https://nvr.org.uk/

Stalls, tombola, raffles, arts and crafts for children, face painting available all day.

Advance day tickets for up to 2 people are £5 with a family ticket for up to 4 people at £10 (any four paws of course go free) and each entry receives 3 free tickets to our tombola. On the day tickets are £7 for up to 2 people and £12 for a family ticket (without tombola entry).  Please try to bring cash on the day if you can.

Entries to any dog class including agility – £3 per dog. Dog classes for giant working dogs, any dog breeds, rescue and disabled dog classes. We love you all!

Camping is also available either in bell tents in our private area for £60 per tent per night (sleep up to 6 people) on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights or by booking directly with Nene Park if you wish to bring your own tent for £25 per night at Glade Park. https://neneparktrust.digitickets.co.uk/category/32650

1 pm start – Giant working dog classes

Best adolescent – under 2 years old

Best female – over 2 and up to 6 years old

Best male – over 2 and up to 6 years old

Best oldie – 7 years and above

Overall – best in show

2 pm – Other dog breeds/rescue/disabled classes

Best adolescent – under 2 years old

Best adult (2 years to 9 years old)

Best oldie – 10 years and above

Best young handler (under 16s)

Best rescue

Best dog trick

Best obedience – able to sit for 30 seconds and then come to heel on command

Best disabled (eg tri-paw/sensory impaired)
